Overview:
The client is a leading healthcare organization recognized for delivering high-quality patient care and pioneering medical solutions. With a strong presence across hospitals, outpatient centers, and research institutions, the company is setting new benchmarks by combining innovation, compassion, and operational excellence.
As part of its global expansion strategy, the client has established a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India. This center is designed to harness the power of local talent, streamline operations, and support the organization’s commitment to making a positive impact on communities around the world.
Requirements
To create a secure and responsive workplace environment, the client outlined a comprehensive set of requirements for an advanced, integrated security system at their new Global Capability Centre. The primary goals were to safeguard all personnel, improve visitor handling, and ensure a rapid and coordinated response to emergencies.
- Advanced Surveillance: High-definition CCTV cameras were to be strategically installed to cover multiple corridors simultaneously, minimizing blind spots and reducing both infrastructure complexity and licensing overhead.
- Integrated Access Control: Sophisticated access control systems, enhanced with motion sensors, were required to enable seamless movement within the facility while ensuring secure and automatic exits at all entry points.
- Efficient Visitor Management: The system needed to include video intercoms at all entry locations, enabling remote verification and approval of visitors—balancing strong security with operational ease.
- Enhanced Emergency Response: To support real-time emergency handling, the client requested hidden alarms for discreet alerts, local alarms in emergency staircases, and duress alarms capable of triggering email and desktop notifications. The system would also include fire-linked automation—like automatic gate opening and manual break-glass points for added safety.
- Seamless System Integration: A key requirement was to integrate all components—CCTV, intercoms, access control, and fire alarms—into one cohesive system, enabling faster, more effective responses and eliminating compatibility challenges.
Solution:
To address the client’s security and operational needs, we deployed a fully integrated security system utilizing Avigilon’s UNITY8 Video Management Application (VMS) and Access Control Manager Enterprise Plus, seamlessly connected with AIPHONE’s Video Intercom System and the existing Fire Alarm System.
- Optimized Surveillance Coverage: Deployed Avigilon’s multi-sensor IP CCTV cameras for stitched panoramic views, covering multiple corridors with fewer units. Minimized blind spots, reduced cabling complexity, and lowered licensing costs within the Avigilon VMS ecosystem.
- Integrated Security Systems for Seamless Monitoring: Unified Avigilon’s IP CCTV cameras, AIPHONE’s video intercoms, and Avigilon’s access control systems with the fire alarm system.
- Enhanced Access Control & Visitor Management: Motion sensors installed at key entry points for automatic exits, streamlining employee and visitor movement. Along with this we also integrated AIPHONE’s video intercom system with access control for remote visitor verification and approval.
- Advanced Emergency Response & Alarm Systems
- Fire Emergency Automation: Access control system automatically unlocks gates in case of a fire, with break-glass units as backup.
- Duress Alarm System: Immediate emergency notifications via email and desktop alerts to designated personnel.
- Local scare alarms installed in emergency staircases to deter unauthorized access during critical situations.
- Centralized Authentication & User Management: Integrated with LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) for centralized authentication and access provisioning. Ensured compliance with organizational security policies and seamless user identity management.
Business Outcomes:
Implementing the integrated security solution has delivered significant business benefits, improving both operational efficiency and organizational security:
- Enhanced Security and Safety – Unified IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarms for complete premises protection.
- Improved Operational Efficiency – Automated access control and visitor management reduce admin workload and improve security.
- Cost Savings – Multi-sensor cameras cut hardware, licensing, and maintenance costs.
- Rapid Emergency Response – Duress alarms and automated safety protocols ensure immediate alerts and quick evacuation.
- Improved User Experience – Seamless access control and visitor management enhance convenience for employees and guests.
- Scalability & Future-Proofing – Flexible infrastructure allows for easy expansion and integration with future technologies.
